Discover 'Sexual Cultures in Aotearoa NZ Education', a pivotal paperback that delves deep into the intricate relationships between sexual orientation, gender identity, and the educational landscape in New Zealand. Authored by Alexandra Gunn & Lee Smith, this insightful 256-page book highlights the significant gap between New Zealand's reputation as a ‘gay-friendly’ nation and the realities faced within educational institutions. While New Zealand boasts advanced human rights legislation, the assumption of heterosexuality as the norm often marginalizes other sexual orientations in early childhood, schools, and tertiary settings. This collection of research challenges educators, parents, and students to foster an inclusive, socially just environment that celebrates sexual and gender diversity. Contributors from various sectors share their compelling findings and perspectives, urging a collective resistance against entrenched discriminatory practices. Ideal for educators, policymakers, and advocates for equality, this book is essential reading for anyone interested in social justice in education and creating supportive spaces for all identities in Aotearoa. With dimensions of 150 x 230 mm and a publication date of 01-12-2015, this brand-new paperback from Otago University Press is in stock and ready for fast delivery. Aotearoa New Zealand was recently rated by the Lonely Planet travel guide as the second most â€gay friendly’ country in the world, with some of the most advanced human rights legislation. Research suggests, however, that New Zealand’s relatively â€inclusive’ social climate is not always reflected in our educational settings. This book explores how the assumption that heterosexuality is the norm operates in education, and the discriminatory effects of this for teachers, for students, and for parents, in early childhood education, schools, tertiary and alternative settings. How can education settings become more socially just sites of inclusion for sexual and gender diversity? Contributors from a wide range of sectors discuss their research and invite others to join them in resisting the many injustices perpetuated by the unchecked discriminatory discourses that have shaped New Zealand education historically, and which continue to do so today.

Round scrubbers are better but these will do
These are great for making my skin feel clean and smooth. I do find that these rectangular ones feel a bit less firm and the padding inside gets scrunched up on the first use. It kind of makes it feel like an old pillow. Still, even with that, you do get a nice scrub with lots of bubbles. Cleanlogic are my favorite bath accessory.

My favorite!
I’ve been using the Cleanlogic Detoxify Purifying Charcoal Infused Body Scrubber for a while now and it’s honestly my favorite shower loufa. It scrubs really well, helps get all the dirt off, and leaves you feeling super clean after every shower. It’s durable and holds up great over time. Highly recommend!

2-year-old Boy's Favorite Book!
Format: Hardcover
My 2-year-old grandson is bilingual. I bought him 2 sets of English Dr Seuss books, plus some Spanish versions too.
He is so crazy about this book, "Ten Apples Up On Top," that he reads it many times a day saying "Apples!" and "Apple juice!" over and over. He loves books, but this is the most excited I've ever seen him get about a book!
He will open the other Dr Seuss books to the first page, close them up immediately, then grab this apple book & read all the way through it, over & over again. He won't even let his mom touch it!
I'm sure he will eventually love all the other Dr Seuss books I sent him, too, but right now he's too excited about this apple counting book to spend time reading the others.
I also sent him a Melissa & Doug Abacus to learn to count with, & I texted his mom 2 videos I found on YouTube about teaching toddlers to use an abacus. He's very excited about it & he can now count & move 4 beads, one at a time, when his mom asks him to. It's only his second day using it! So I recommend buying both this book, plus the abacus, for a toddler who is learning to count. They make a great gift set!
I've only sent him board books until I bought these paper-paged Dr Seuss books. I was afraid he was still too young to handle paper pages without tearing them. But these books are very good quality with strong paper pages, so he can flip through the pages without tearing them.

Un libro muy divertido!
Format: Hardcover
Excelente calidad con el material del libro, mi hijo pequeño suele ser un poco descuidado con los libros y la calidad de este ha permitido su durabilidad. A mi hijo le encantó los dibujos.
